This is a light duty remote build to keep price low to compete with the cheaper remotes out there. We do offer heavy duty remotes in our store if needed.

By pressing the Chrome button, the switchblade key will pop open. Then press the Chrome button to fold the key back in its case.

***The BMW key blade must be cut to match your original key in order for it to work on your vehicle. Key cutting services are available through United Auto Security, or you can inquire with your local automotive locksmith.

If your BMW was built between 1988 and 1994, this key will function as your original key. If your BMW was built after 1995, this key will open the doors, trunk, and glove box but will NOT start your BMW because it does NOT have a transponder. However, you can remove the transponder from your original key and place it inside this key.

Additional services are available, including transponder programming to add new keys.
